Hands-On Training with Real Clients

Gain confidence when you practice your newfound massage therapy skills in our Student Clinic. You’ll get first-hand experience in operating a professional Massage Therapy practice in a supervised environment (you’ll be overseen by an LMT). Over the course of 80 massage sessions, you’ll practice techniques learned in each term, including Introduction to Massage, Massage Techniques, Oriental Massage, and Medical Massage.

Flexible Schedules

You don’t have to wait around for months once you’ve decided to enroll. New terms begin approximately every 12 weeks so you can begin taking classes almost immediately and get one step closer to achieving your career goals.

Full-time students can complete the program in as little as 1 year (4 terms), and part-time students can complete the program in just under 2 years (8 terms).

Class Schedule
  • Full-time (48-week course) – 5 days per week, 4.5 hours per day, plus 80 clinic hours
  • Part-time (96-week course) – 2-3 days per week, 4.5 hours per day, plus 80 clinic hours
    *Additional community service hours are required

NYIM reserves the right to add or cancel any class start date or session it deems necessary. Every consideration will be given to students, assisting in their enrollment in an alternate session or date, as enrollment space permits. Listed below are term start/end dates for this edition of the program catalog.

*Dates may vary due to state boards. Start dates and breaks are subject to change due to weather conditions or any other extenuating circumstances. Breaks are given between most terms and range from 2-5 class days.


Class Options

Classes are offered at 3 convenient times:

  • Morning – Mondy – Friday 8 am-12:30 pm
  • Afternoon – Monday – Friday 1 pm-5:30 pm
  • Night – Monday – Friday 6 pm-10:30 pm
Holidays

New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day (and the day after Thanksgiving), and Christmas Day. Students who wish to observe other religious holidays should notify the Administration for special arrangements.


School Hours

  • NYIM Classrooms – 8:00 am to 10:30 pm, Monday through Friday
  • Clinic Hours -10:00 am to 6:30 pm (subject to change), Tuesday through Saturday
  • Administrative Offices – 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday

NYIM reserves the right to close the school and Student Clinic when deemed necessary.


Regular Review Classes

One thing that sets NYIM apart from other schools is that we hold frequent complimentary revision classes for existing students and graduates.

All review classes are held from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm unless otherwise specified. Please call 716-633-0355 EXT 215 or 216 to sign up for review classes. Please note classes and dates are subject to change.

Tuition & Related Expenses

The cost breakdown for the entire Massage Therapy program is outlined below, as well as the books and supplies you need and where to find them. Federal Student Aid, Pell Grants, Veterans Benefits and scholarships are available to those who qualify. See the Financial Aid page to learn more.

Tuition
  • Tuition – $17,500.00 ($15.57 per clock hour)
  • Registration fee* – $150.00

*The registration is required within two weeks of acceptance to secure the student’s seat in the program and is applied towards tuition.

There are 3 payment options you can choose from. You can pay in full at the start of the program, pay 3 installations or make a monthly payment with 7% interest.


Additional Expenses

  • Application fee – $25.00
  • A background check from Erie County Resident** – $15.00 (plus applicable NYS sales tax)
  • A background check from non-Erie County Resident** – $20.00 (plus applicable NYS sales tax)
  • Books and required supply package (plus applicable NYS sales tax) – $712.90
    **If the applicant has not lived in the current county of residence for at least thirty (30) days, an additional background release form and fee must be submitted for a background check in the previous county of residence.

ALL Payments must be in the form of a check, money order, certified check or charge card. No cash will be accepted. Applicants will be charged $35 for any returned checks.

The Clinic Supply Package (required of every student) includes school shirts, scrub top, blood pressure cuff, stethoscope, single holster, handouts, and a photo identification card. The cost of the Clinic Supply Package is $190.00 plus applicable NYS sales tax.

If you choose to purchase all textbooks from the bookstore, in addition to the Clinic Supply Package, the total cost would be $712.90 plus applicable NYS sales tax. The Clinic Supply Package contents and all prices are subject to change. Substitutions are not allowed. Students are responsible for all personal supplies and notebooks.
